Biocontrol of Bindweed And Thistle Project
A collaboration with OAEC (Organic Advisory Education Committee) and Dave Sands, professor in the Department of Plant Sciences and Plant Pathology at Montana State University
Into a plot of Canada Thistle and Field bindweed (Creeping Jenny) we spread the fungus, Fusarium oxysporum, abbreviated FOXY. The experiment is hoping to see wilt on the weeds while leaving crops unaffected.
Sands, in collaboration with OAEC, is currently working in Montana to explore biocontrol of these noxious weeds.
